The Tulita Dene Band is pleased to welcome you to our website. Located in the Sahtu Region of the North West Territories, we proudly serve the community of Tulita, the land 'where the two rivers meet'.
A Bit About Us
Part of the Boreal Forest, Tulita is situated at the crossroads of the Mackenzie River and the Great Bear River. Our rich history dates back thousands of years and we continue today to honor our people's traditional lifestyle of hunting, fishing and gathering.
The primary role of the Tulita Dene Band is to protect and promote the interests of our people. This includes managing land and resource rights, advocating for social and economic development, and preserving cultural heritage.
The Band engages with federal and territorial governments, other Indigenous groups, and various stakeholders within the country ensuring that the rights of the community members are upheld.
