Mackenzie Valley Highway
A Brief History
The Mackenzie Valley Highway has been proposed for several decades. In the 1960/70's it was part of the federal Roads to Resources Program.

Since 2000 governments have invested over $145 million in MVH.

In November 2018 the Canyon Creek Access Road opened, a 14 km
road south from Norman Wells along MVH alignment.

The current focus is on the segment from Wrigley to Norman Wells,
which runs through Tulita.

Our Perspective
After 70 years, the highway remains unfinished. There has been much debate since it was first brought up.
